We were delighted to welcome a group of old and new friends from Cognac to Perth for a week in April. It was a great pleasure to host them in our homes, to rekindle old friendships after the pandemic, and to welcome quite a number of new friends to Scotland and to Perth. On the Friday night a reception and dinner were held at the Black Watch Museum and restaurant, where our guests were greeted with the bagpipes on arrival and then formally welcomed by ourselves and by the Provost of Perth, Xander McDade  and some of his councillor colleagues. Following short speeches, we all had the opportunity to visit the museum. There then followed a delicious meal, and the traditional ceilidh. During their visit, The group visited Arbroath Abbey, the V&A museum in Dundee, had a night away in Oban and Glasgow. On their last night, we held our famous pot luck supper , and our French friends sang some wonderful songs, having rehearsed on the bus during the week.
